UPDATE: Pictures of a man police would like to speak to in connection with this crime can be seen below: British Transport Police are calling on the public’s help after a man propositioned and inappropriately touched a teenage girl at Wakefield Kirkgate station on Friday, 1 February.

PC Christopher McGlynn, investigating the incident, explained: “The victim, a 14-year-old girl, had accidentally boarded the wrong service at Leeds on her way home.

“She left the service at Wakefield Kirkgate around 6.45pm and contacted a family member to collect her.

“Near the exit of the station she was approached by an older man who propositioned her. When the victim declined his advances, the man began to touch her inappropriately.”

The man then walked away from the station and turned left at the end of Monk Street. Police believe the man is aged around 20-years-old, of medium build, with shaven strawberry blonde hair. He is thought to have been wearing a blue jacket at the time.
