Woman sexually assaulted on eastbound Hammersmith and City line train
British Transport Police (BTP) officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a Hammersmith & City line tube train in August.
Detective Sergeant Margaret Storey, investigating the incident, is appealing for anyone with information to come forward:
“The victim, a 24-year-old woman, boarded the train at King’s Cross station on Monday, 27 August at 11:50pm.
“After falling asleep, she woke up just before arriving at Barking to find a man leaning over her and kissing her while touching her inappropriately.
“The victim managed to push the man away from her as the train pulled in to the station. He is believed to have run off before boarding a District line train."
DS Storey added: "We have followed up a number of enquiries but are yet to identify the man in the image, and I encourage anybody who knows him to get in touch straight away.
If you recognise the man in the CCTV images or have any information that you think might assist the investigation, contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident number B211/10/12. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
