More at the Manchester Evening News.A woman has been jailed for six and a half years for scarring an epilepsy sufferer with a hot iron in a "nasty example of bullying and humiliation". Sharon Lyndsay, 31, stubbed out a lit cigarette on the eyes and face of her victim, and pulled down his trousers and boxer shorts and then systematically burnt the top of his thighs and groin with a hot iron while he "screamed for mercy". She claimed Philip Sheehy made unwanted sexual advances to her on a night out in Blackpool but Preston Crown Court heard she happily invited him back to a house where the assault took place. Mr Sheehy, 41, had visited the Lancashire resort from his home in Rochdale to stay with friends. He met Lyndsay while out drinking and they later went to the home of co-defendant Adam Marsden. In an unprovoked attack Marsden, 27, began the violence when he punched Mr Sheehy in the head and then climbed on top of him to ram a pen in his ear...
