Dear Jamie Street, Alex Partridge, Jake Gallagher, Lorna Naylor and all the others who are involved with, were involved with or are fans of Unilad.
After your vile encouragement of rape and misogyny, I didn't think you could sink any lower.
I've now found out that in 2010 you published an article (LINK MAY TRIGGER, VERY OFFENSIVE AND DISABILIST CONTENT) mocking disabled children.
You try to make out that disabled children cannot be intelligent and that they cannot converse with others.
You make out that they are a burden and unloved.
You imply that there is a link between disability and incest, and that DLA is used as beer money.
None of these are true.
Unilad writers, if you think this is banter, you should read a book called Scapegoat: Why We Are Failing Disabled People by Katharine Quarmby.
Read how disabled people suffer abuse because of the attitudes that people like you encourage. That disabled people are the "other", people to laugh at.
Or you could read about how a disabled man endured a "barrage of hate" from his neighbour, how a teenager felt that a disabled man he attacked deserved everything he got as he was disabled, or how almost one quarter of disabled students are victims of hate crime.
Cruel and untrue comments like yours feed into the demonisation of the disabled as encouraged by much of the media and political class.
Today we learnt that disabled people, including cancer patients, will not only get ESA for 1 year.
Rhetoric like yours fed into public and political support for this.
Rhetoric like yours causes disabled people to suffer.
