A CHILDREN'S centre is appealing for donations of new toys and food for needy families in the borough this Christmas.
Staff at Leyton's Sybourn Children's Centre want to give out hampers of goodies but need help from residents.
Its outreach worker Frank Charles said: "Even if it's just a tin every donation is gratefully received.
"There are a lot of needy families locally and we just want to help make their winter just that bit better."
Pop into the centre, in Perth Road, to make a donation Monday to Friday or call 020 8558 9597.
