David Zucker's new film attacks American Left

David Zucker's new film, An American Carol, parodies Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol to attack the American left.

The film has activist Michael Malone (Kevin Farley), a parody of Michael Moore being shown "the error of his ways" by three American heroes who try to convince Malone to support Independence Day (odd, considering I've never heard Michael Moore make any negative comments about the holiday).

An American Carol also stars Fox News presenter Bill O'Reilly as himself. O'Reilly can be seen below introducing the trailer.

The Weekly Standard has this report.

The set jumps to life. Two young men--both terrorists--enter the station. They are surprised to see a security checkpoint manned by two NYPD officers. "I'll need to see your bag, please," says one of the officers. The lead terrorist glances nervously at his friend and swings his backpack down from his shoulder to present it to the cops. Just as the officer pulls on the zipper, however, a small army of ACLU lawyers
marches up to the policemen with a stop-search order. The cops look at each other and shrug their shoulders. "This says we can't search their bags."

The young men are relieved. They smile fiendishly as they walk toward the crowded platform. As the lead terrorist once again slips the backpack over his shoulder, he mutters his appreciation.

"Thank Allah for the ACLU."

How long before a British version comes out, with a parody of Shami Chakrabarti shown "the error of her ways" by Horatio Nelson, William Pitt and Winston Churchill?

An American Carol is little more than Republican Party masturbation fodder.

Intelligent conservatives such as P.J O'Rouke provide far better arguments than David Zucker ever could.

Michael Moore does need to be critiqued (in particular his one-sided views on Northern Ireland) but there needs to be some truth behind the satire. Moore isn't a hypocrite on American racial matters, not does he go around saying America should be destroyed. These parodies make no sense.

An American Carol is out on October 3rd in America. No idea if/when it'll be distributed in other nations.
