Back in Harrow

After a few days in Oxfordshire, I'm back on campus at Westminster University to start my final project. I'll also be carrying out an internship in a fortnight at the Daily Express, one of Britain's leading tabloid newspapers.

It's really hot today, and I'm really tired.This week is National Carers Week and I thought I'd blog some of the events taking place for anyone in the London borough of Harrow who is reading this post.

Harrow GP's surgeries will be running health checks for carers this week, so call to book an appointment.

Tuesday 10th June, 12-2pm, Committee Room 5, Civic Centre 1, Station Road - Staff Carers' Forum Lunch and complementary therapy for Harrow Council staff.

Wednesday 11th June, 12.30 - 3.30pm Health Living Centre, The Wealdstone Centre 38-40 High Street - Carers of people with dementia lunch, support and relaxation. For more information contact: Kate Lim, Admiral Nurse Tel: 020 8424 7728.

Thursday 12th June, 9.30 - 4.00pm Harrow Baptist Church, College Road - Mental Health Carers Conference "Pathway to Recovery" for carers of people with mental health conditions.

Friday 13th June, 10.30 - 11.30am Mayor's parlour, Civic Centre - Briefing hosted by Mayor of the London Borough of Harrow, Councillor John Nickolay for all carers and staff.
Nationwide, the winners of the 2008 Young Carers award have also been announced.
